APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USING A COMPUTING DEVICE TO TRACK ITEMS
Highlights of Claims:
A computing device when coupled to a RFID reader will allow the user to communicate with and track passive and active RFID tags
Ability of the system to trigger an alarm if a tag exceeds a set maximum distance
Displaying a radar screen showing an RFID tag direction and location with respect to the computing device
A user-defined programmable audible tone associated with a RFID tag will automatically increase as the RFID tag distance increases from the computing device
The system will utilize Latitude and Longitude coordinates to locate
an RFID tag
Application Summary:
Utilizing a computing device equipped with the RFID reader and associated application will alarm the user so that important tasks and documents are within reach, for example: Preparing for a road trip and being assured all required documents are within reach
Creating household inventories
Ability to generate task-specific lists defined by the user and ensure that all items are within a predetermined radius specified by the user
Creates a reminder when a user-defined RFID tag is detected
